, this follows complaints that the u.s. navy contractors may have mishandled contaminated material. later on today, the board of supervisors may take up the issue. the navy is getting ready to transfer the former treasure island naval station over to the city of san francisco for a new housing development at a cost of $105 million. but everything depends on whether deadlines are met, including cleaning up hazardous waste. >>> 7:07. in overnight news, the california highway patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that shut down eastbound 580 in east oakland. witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle and rider in the left lane of 580 near the 98th avenue onramp. they say they blocked the scene with their cars until police arrived. the motorcyclist -- the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, died from his injuries. police say it does not appear the man was speeding. they are not sure what caused the crash. they are investigating whether alcohol played a factor in the accident. >>> sal is back. you are watching the toll plaza and everything else. >> that's right. it's pretty crowded there.

this morning in san francisco. alex s is avidge, k to tvu. >>> two men shot overnight in east san jose are expected to survive. police rushed to a heated argument about 10:20 last night. they say they found two men withgunshot wound. one shot in the chest. police later told ktvu they are not sure how the men knew each other but they don't think the shootings were gang related. >>> it's 7:06. happening now, less than an hour to go people who have been waiting in line for the iphone 5 will soon get their sweet rewards. apple stores opened at 8 this morning to sell the iphone 5. this is the chestnut street store in san francisco. thousands of people have been camping outside apple at&t and sprint and verizon stores here in the bay area. some brought camping gear and some have been sitting in line since monday. now in new york city, apple customers filed through this long line to get the prized position. the life weaved through metal barricades in front of the main store in midtown manhattan. fans what chance to test it out were asked what's so great about the phone. >> super fast. the fir
